The Spirit
 North Country Canoe Outfitters, along with several fellow members of the Ely Outfitters Association,
produced a 30 minute television program "The
Wilderness Calls To Us". Released in
2003, and featuring High Definition digital photography (HDTV)
plus surround sound, this feature presentation is great to watch even
if you aren't interested in paddling the Boundary Waters. Follow as
the storyline weaves a
"too busy" metropolitan family into the sights and sounds and
smells of the Boundary Waters. Feel the Spirit of the Wilderness touch
their experience with:
Breath-taking aerial views of the wilderness,
Archived film of Ely's historical canoeing
heritage,
A visit to downtown Ely,
Preparing for a canoe trip with an outfitter
And featuring insightful comments by nationally known
outdoor personalities
While we
were very instrumental in this program,
from its original inception thru
guiding for the
actual photography,
this is an area travelogue, not an info-mercial for North Country.
