REMODELING:
Bigger Rooms & New Showers
In studying our reservation lists,
we have found that party sizes are increasing; we are seeing many more 6’s
and 8’s than just a few years back. Another shift is towards more couples
and “all-girl” trips. Roughly 96% of our customers spend the night with us
prior to starting their trips. On the back end, 3 parties in 4 relax at the
base after an unhurried afternoon return on their last day on the water.
That adds up to a couple of thousand folks sleeping here on the northeast
shore White Iron Lake.
As our business grew, we were regularly
maxing-out our capacities. Several years ago we built the large men’s
showerhouse and dedicated the four separate shower/restrooms to our female
guests. In our continuing effort to make your overall canoe trip experience
as pleasant as possible, we took another step in enhancing our base
facilities. We remodeled the Back Bunkhouse from four smaller rooms into
three, each for nine people. This allows for better party integrity (most
bigger groups spent their leisure and pre-trip packing time together,
anyway). Their individual outside exits all open on to a common
deck/walkway.
For the gals, we replaced each of the
older shower stalls with new, fiberglass, one piece modular units. Single
faucet control units eliminate any chance of an unexpected blast of hot or
cold water. And new water heaters increase the time we can run “continuous”
showers.
It all comes down to the fact that when we
say "Have a good night", we really mean it! |
